Jeff and Colleen Mitchell are overjoyed to announce the birth of their first grandchild, William Finlay Mitchell! At birth he weighed in at 6 pounds, 5 ounces and he was 20 inches long with a full head of hair. Parents are their son Nathan, who grew up in First Church, and Emily who reside in Simsbury. Nathan and Emily were married at First Church in September 2021. William was born October 10th at 11:34 p.m. (Pictured is proud grandmother Colleen soon after William’s arrival!)
Lynn Huntington’s grandson, Tyler Kint, has landed a dream job for the next 7 months. A 2021 graduate of Littlestown (PA) High School. He will be working at Disney World in Orlando! Tyler runs the large boat that ferries visitors around the theme park via water. His smile and friendly guidance seem to come naturally to this son of Susan Huntington.
(Several members will remember Susan, who grew up in First Church, active in the music program.)
Lisa Abel was recently named the 2022-23 Kathleen Magowan Simsbury Teacher of the Year. She is also a state semi-finalist and is continuing in the process toward the CT teacher of the year!

Susan Izard baptized her grandchildren on Church Island, Squam Lake New Hampshire! Grandpa is Bob Izard. Hugh Andrews Izard, 9 weeks old (son of Tom and Ginny) on was baptized on Sept 2nd. Aida Izard Desnoyer, 2 (daughter of Catherine and Mark) was baptized there last summer. Entire family was present for the service!

Our former Director of Family Ministry, Lauren Dube was married to Alex Scott on August 20, 2022 at First Church, Windsor. They had a wonderful day celebrating with friends and family and couldn’t be happier! Congrats Lauren and thank you for sharing these pix and news with us!

Bev and Paul Truebig have a new grandson, Julian Emory Truebig, born on August 13, 2022.
On June 12 our former Associate Pastor Elliott Munn (right) was installed as Pastor of the Vergennes Congregational Church in Vergennes, Vermont. (The pandemic had a way of delaying lots of important events!) Pastor Emeritus Geordie Campbell was the guest preacher for that wonderful celebration. Also included in the service that day was the baptism of Elliott and Elizabeth’s daughter Lydia. Greg and Liz Oman-Wlifrid provided the music and were named as Godparents to Lydia. What an awesome day!
We were saddened to learn of Patricia Furnivall’s passing. In classic “Pat” style, she celebrated her 94th birthday on July 1, 2022, and died later that day. RIP Pat. A memorial service was held on July 9, 2022.

From Joanne and Ralph White: Son Michael White and family moved from Brooklyn, NY to Flower Mound, TX in March 2022. Mike and Rachael now have 4 children! Christopher White and family moved from Madison, MS to Mocksville, NC in May 2022. Chris remains a Federal U.S. Marshal with a better assignment. He and Meghan now have 3 children. Joanne is happy that they are now closer to them!
