Membership

New members welcome! Joining is as simple as:

• A confession or reaffirmation of faith, OR
• A letter of transfer or certification from another Christian church, OR
• Confirmation (for young people who learn more about Christianity and the church before joining).

In the United Church of Christ, we honor baptisms from other Christian churches. In instances when individuals have not been baptized this sacrament may be added to the new member service.

Information sessions for prospective new members take place during weeks before joining ceremony.  We expect to receive new members into the life of the church in September. Please contact Rev. Fredd in person, by telephone at 860-233-9606, or via email fredd.ward@whfirstchurch.org

Updating the Church Directory

Has this ever happened to you?  You sit in the same pew behind the same couple each week, but you can’t remember their names.  A solution is coming!! An up-to-date picture directory is in the works.  We will be using any names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and pictures that are in “CCB”.  If you wish for any of your information to be excluded, please complete this form: CLICK HERE.  Once the directory is complete, it will be made available only to church members and not to anyone outside of the church.  Any questions?
