Confirmation
Confirmation Class Forming Rev. Fredd will be offering a Confirmation class for students in Ninth Grade and up this year. If you are interested in enrolling, please contact him in person or give him a call at 860-233-9605.
Confirmation is a series of classes and faith experiences offering teenagers (9th grade and older) an opportunity to explore questions of faith, learn more about Christianity and the church, and deepen their relationship with God. Together with the ministers, class leaders, and program mentors, participants explore various faith-related topics using the Confirm not Conform program as its primary curriculum. There is a strong emphasis on considering how to live a life of faith in the world today and in our own everyday lives.
Throughout the class, which meets from September to June, participants discern whether or not they want to confirm the vows their parents made on their behalf at their baptism; or may choose to be baptized if they are not already. The Rite of Confirmation welcomes these individuals into full membership of First Church.
